Newborn LifeStyle Session

In my previous post, I talked about moving in a new direction and working towards telling a more complete story.  In this case, it lead me to adding maternity sessions as an option for all of my newborn clients and I’m so excited for being able to offer a more complete story but there is more to to it (as there almost always is).

I’ve been offering newborn photography almost from the start.  I’ve loved the opportunity to photograph these little ones and to be able to preserve these special memories for my clients.  I think part of why I love it so much is because I didn’t have this for myself when I had my babies.

I love the beautiful posed newborn shots- the baby, sleeping peacefully wrapped up on a soft fur with a pretty headband or a cute hat.  They definitely melt my heart but they don’t always tell a story.  They document a tiny person and can be beautiful, timeless art pieces but they don’t really tell the story of the family, the connection, the love.  That’s is what has pushed me towards offering Lifestyle newborn sessions.

Lifestyle sessions are documentary but with the purpose of showing real moments- cuddling, hugging, laughing and loving on each other.  But instead of telling you about these sessions, I’m going to show you.

Beginnings- Part 2

This little one came into the world and those bright eyes just wanted to take it all in.  She was content as could be and wide awake for most of the session.

Big Brother was very excited!

And so sweet with his little sister.

It was in Daddy’s arms that she she finally was drifting off to sleep.
