Senior Portraits at Pitt

Pittsburgh is a college town, with at least 29 schools in the immediate area and many more in surrounding Western Pennsylvania.  And families have strong connections to these schools.  For some families, there is love and tradition connected with their favorite universities. I grew up with friends enjoying the great rivalry between Pitt and Penn State.  (I was a Penn State for some time just because I liked blue and white better than blue and yellow).  When a connection to a school is so strong, it makes sense to choose it as a location for your senior portrait session.   And if you’re planning a senior portrait session in the spring, it makes for a perfect transition into the next phase of life.

HTP! (Hail to Pitt!)

This senior had been putting off her senior portraits (so easy to do in a pandemic) but was finally ready to schedule.  Pitt campus in Oakland was the perfect location.  Mom and dad went to Pitt.  Older Sister was already at Pitt.  And this senior was ready to start her time as a Pitt undergrad.  It also helps that Oakland has so many great photography spots.

So we met up by Heinz Chapel wearing Pitt gear and ready to document this exciting transition!

A Different Look in a Different Spot

Having your senior session at Pitt doesn’t mean your session is entirely devoted to the blue and yellow.  As I said before, Oakland has plenty of beautiful spots and the columns at the Mellon Institute are a favorite for many Pittsburgh photographers (me included).

A short walk and a quick change and we were able to grab a few more portraits to add to her gallery.

It’s all about you!

Ultimately this session is about capturing YOU!  Whether it’s senior portraits at Pitt, downtown by the Benedum Center, or in a beautiful field of wildflowers, my job is to help you find the place where you are most comfortable.  It’s about finding the place where you can be YOU! and celebrate this milestone achievement.
