Maternity Session at Squaw Valley Park, Fox Chapel
I’ve mentioned before that maternity sessions are quickly becoming some of my favorite sessions to work on. I see myself as not only an artist but a story-teller and maternity sessions with newborn sessions give me the opportunity to tell a more complete story about this new little life coming into the world.
I met mama, daddy and soon-to-be big sis at Squaw Valley park for their mini maternity session. This is a short session that I offer to all of my newborn clients as a opportunity to capture those precious moments of anticipation. And I love when there is an older sibling involved in the session!
Session Details- Maternity Mini

- Location: Squaw Valley Park, Fox Chapel, Pittsburgh
It was so so hot and humid that day but you can’t even tell because mama looked so incredible! Mom found this beautiful blue dress that was comfortable but also showed off her pregnancy. I love when my clients put together great styles for their sessions but I’m also happy to help when needed. In this case, she did this on her own and it was just beautiful!
After a few solo images, we worked on capturing some with the whole family.
Big sister was such a little sweetheart and always ready with smile for me! You could tell she was truly excited for her new sibling!
And one final of mom because seriously, how beautiful!
Not every mama feels comfortable being in front of the camera, let along being in front of the camera when you’re very pregnant but I want to encourages all those ladies out there to consider it. Have someone photograph you! You don’t have to bare your belly to beautifully document this new life that you’re waiting for. And as I mentioned early, it’s telling a story. These kinds of photos document how this child was wanted, celebrated and treasured from the start.
If you are expecting, I would love to talk with you about maternity and newborn photography!
