It’s mid-October and I’m up to my ears in editing and shooting sessions for all of my favorite Pittsburgh families.  This Fall has been amazing with the number of clients choosing me to capture those special moments, to document another year for their family.  I know there are a lot of photographers out there and I’m always thankful when clients choose me and value what I offer.

And because I’m all about capturing the moment, I wanted to share some important advice…

Don’t be afraid to act silly during your family portrait session.

As your photographer, I want to capture you (and your child or family) being YOU! And if you like being silly and having fun and laughing, DO THAT!

Trust me, we’ll still get plenty of smiling faces but I love capturing those silly, happy moments.  I don’t need to share them on social media or my website but you can still look them over and laugh and smile.  And years later look back and say “oh, remember when we did our zombie faces” or “remember when baby girl always stuck out her tongue.”  Embrace all the facets of your family and look for the beauty even in the silly.

And if you’re still in need of some family portraits, contact me and let’s start planning!
