First Birthday Bikini Baby Girl Studio Portrait Session
One typically doesn’t have a first birthday bikini but when mama said they had this cute little one for her girl, I couldn’t wait to see it. Stripes, ruffles, and cuteness overload!
First Birthday Milestone
Turning one is such a big milestone. In just 365 days a little person goes from being completely dependent on mom and dad for everything to being able to crawl, then stand, and then possibly walk. They go from being barely able to focus their eyes on you to understanding your words and beginning to try making their own. So much growth and learning that happens. First birthday portraits bookend that first year, documenting that transition.
But what if I don’t want the mess of a smash cake?
Not a problem at all. Smash cake sessions are not for everyone but special first birthday portraits are treasures to keep. When little Miss L’s mama contacted me she wasn’t interested in a smash cake but wanted to show off her little one’s bikini. I have to say, I’m not sure that there’s anything cuter than a little one-year-old baby girl sporting a red, white, and blue ruffled bikini.
Because it was March, outside was not bikini weather so we rented my favorite studio, Studio 415. I knew the white walls and floors would be perfect and we wouldn’t have to worry about snowflakes. We planned to have her wear her fancy dress first and then the bikini. Fortunately, this little miss was quite happy with all of the attention (including her amazing big brother who was wonderful at getting her to smile).

Then it was time for the bikini.
The bikini is from Ruffle Butts and I’m wishing I had known about them when my baby girl was tiny. They have some of the cutest clothes!
Oh my goodness, the cuteness! I grinned so much while working on these images. She was such a little sweetheart and a joy to photograph.
