Another Fresh48 session!! I’ve been waiting for this one because I happen to be very close to this family. I’ve been photographing their family since it began to grow with little Miss Savannah and now to meet her new baby brother!
Once again, for those of you who may be unfamiliar with the term Fresh48, these are photo sessions done within the first 48 hours of birth. It’s a quick session at the hospital that is perfect for documenting or telling the story of a growing family. I prefer to do these in black and white to keep the focus on the baby and minimize the distractions that you often have in hospital rooms. These images are not really posed. It’s just an opportunity to have someone capture those first moments of getting to know this new little person.
Now back to more of Baby Billy 🙂
These sessions are also a great way to capture that first moment where the big sister meets her baby brother.
She’s not even 2 years old and she’s so gentle and caring. She loves her new baby and was especially fond of playing with his toes.
As an observer, I’m able to catch other moments that might go unnoticed but are special, like Grandpa and his little girl having a snack on the couch.
Then it was time for Miss Savannah to go home for a nap so there were bye-bye kisses and hugs.
And then I could focus on mom, dad and baby Billy.
I love getting the expressions new parents make looking at, talking to their new little one.
And being able to capture those first expressions baby makes.
These are definitely some of my favorite sessions to photograph and I look forward to doing more of these in 2015!
