Pittsburgh Tween Portraits on Strawberry Way
What better spot for tween portraits than in the middle of all the excitement of downtown, Pittsburgh!
Strawberry Way is one of my favorite streets in Pittsburgh not only because I love the artwork on the street but also because it’s just a really eclectic spot. Look one way and you’ll find colorful bistro sets and large garden boxes. Look another way and you’ll see a busy street with a number of cars and pedestrians all doing their thing. Then you look down another part of the alley and you’ll find dark shadows that show a grittier view of the area.
It’s all about fun!
The early pre-teen and teen years are so stressful for kids. I can’t believe the pressure that kids are under today. They don’t have a ton of free time and the activities that they participate in becoming more and more demanding. Add to that, cell phones and social media…it certainly seems exhausting to me. The last thing that I want to do is add to that pressure and so that won’t happen. Tween portrait sessions with me are meant to be fun and relaxed. They’re an opportunity for your child to play around with their image and feel free to express themselves. We’ll take spend some time talking and getting to know each other. I’ll give them tips on how to move. Mostly, I’ll be cheering them on and encouraging them to just have fun!
Just being tweens in the city
What I loved about this session was the complete fun and joy that these two have with one another. They’re each such different kids and yet when you put them together, you just can’t help but capture their love for each other. It was exciting to photograph them together and separately and I’m sure you’ll see their personalities in the images.
Do you have a Pittsburgh tween who would love a portrait session like this? Do you have a tween with dreams of modeling? Tween portraits are a great way to see how it feels to be in front of the camera for more than just “smile and say cheese” images.
