From the time my little girl was 2, she’s wanted to be a ballerina. “I want to be a real ballerina some day, just like Angelina” she would say. She loved the Angelina Ballerina books and we would read them over and over. So when she was old enough, we started her in ballet. Each year she would learn and grow and each year we would ask her if she wanted to keep going. This year we celebrated her first real performance on stage! It was a big deal. Grandparents came to see. Aunts and uncles came to see. Even her big brother endured the show.
As the date of the show grew closer and closer, I kept thinking about how to document this special occasion. I wanted to celebrate my ballerina and her accomplishment- her dedication and commitment to learning. I couldn’t resist planning a special session for her so we spent some time in a studio space in the strip district and my girl showed some of her moves.
She’s learning that it takes a lot of concentration to hold your balance on tip toes.
