Magee Hospital, Fresh 48 Newborn Session
To document these precious first moments as a new family, I schedule a Fresh 48 newborn session at the hospital within the first 24-48 hours of birth. These are more lifestyle images with my job, as the photographer, being to observe rather than to direct and pose. For some families, this is a final moment before all of the hustle and bustle. It’s just mom, dad, and baby getting to know each other. The very start of the journey.
And for parents who have an older child at home, this can be an extra special moment. These sessions give parents the opportunity to focus on their new little one.
Meeting Maggie Rose
There’s something so special about being able to capture those earliest moments in the hospital. For this session, it was extra special because it gave mom and dad some special photos with just their baby girl. With big brother at home, mom and dad focused on their sweet baby girl.
And isn’t she just beautiful! Don’t let the closed eyes fool you. This little peanut was wide awake and bright-eyed for almost the entire time I was there.
These sessions are meant to be more documentary-style. I tend towards keeping them black and white to focus on those precious details and not be distracted by colors.
After some family shots, I focused on mama and her new girl.
And then it was time for daddy to cuddle his little princess.
And finally, I tossed a couple of wraps and headbands into my bag just to be able to give her a chance to play dress-up for the first time.
Happy birthday Miss Maggie Rose!
As mentioned earlier, I schedule Fresh 48 newborn sessions while my clients are still in the hospital. However, if that’s not an option, we can schedule at home. It’s a beautiful way to capture these precious first moments. Contact me to learn more about these and other newborn session options.
