I have a little confession to make…

yes, I still get nervous before my sessions.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a session for my next-door neighbor (and one of my closest friends) or a completely new client I’ve never met.   I still get nervous.  I get a twitchy feeling in my skin.  I get butterflies in my stomach.  My heart pounds.  It must be something comparable to stage fright.  I question whether I really can do this.  What if my camera doesn’t work?  What if I do something stupid, like set the wrong ISO?  What if none of my tricks work in getting the kids to cooperate?  All this builds up while I’m on the way to the session and while I wait for the client.

Then we meet.  We shake hands (if I’ve never met them before) or hug (because some of my clients are also really good friends).  Then we begin.

And when it’s done, sometimes I catch moments that are so sweet, it’s almost magical.

This session was the first of my spring mini sessions with Matilda Jane Clothing.  Mama picked out these adorable outfits and then we met at the park for their session.  I just love how colorful these are and the girls were quite happy with their outfits.  Big sister’s dress was the perfect twirly dress!

If you have a little girl, you should definitely check out Matilda Jane or contact my friend Mala who is a trunk keeper for more about the clothes and the company.
