A fall family session in a new spot!!! This was so so exciting for me! Seriously!! When you’re used to seeing multiple photographers vying for that certain spot in the local park, a new spot can be thrilling.
Yes, it’s the little things or maybe it’s just a photographer thing.
Anyways, I have been driving past this tiny little park for months, while running my son back and forth to appointments but I had never had an opportunity to shoot there. Then a past client contacted me about scheduling a fall session at her home and that there was this cute little park just down the block from her house that she wanted to try too. I was thrilled to discover it was the same park I had been passing and dreaming about all fall.
This may be my new favorite spot! What do you think of their fall fun in the leaves?
Now, while I would love to say that all of my photo sessions go so smoothly with the kids well-behaved angels, mom and dad completely relaxed, perfect weather and clothing… that would be a bit of a fib. I photograph in the real world with real families and sometimes, really cold weather. So what happens if things are a bit off?
It’s simple. We try again.
This little guy was a little off on the day of our photo session and while I tried many of my tricks, it was tough. But I strongly believe that when you hire me to take your family photos, it’s important that you walk away with images that you will love and treasure. So we talked it over and decided to try again and I’m so glad that we did because look at what else we got…
You see, custom portrait photography does not have to be intimidating. Your family doesn’t have to look perfect or be perfectly behaved. Custom photography with Jodi Walsh Photography is about capturing real families and their real emotions. Sometimes it takes a second try.
So next time you’re planning your family photos, consider giving me a try and I’ll even share my new secret spot 🙂
