I may be changing from fall as my favorite season to spring.  There’s something about that switch to spring that just lifts my heart and causes me to breath in deeply and just enjoy the possibilities ahead.  So I think it’s fitting that I should be posting a maternity session now that it’s finally spring (at least according to the calendar).  It fits with the possibilities that are ahead for this family and this beautiful new life that they’re eagerly waiting for.

And I love that I get to document these moments.

I first got to meet this family back in November to celebrate their special little guy who turned 2.  You can check out his session here.  He giggled almost the entire session and trust me, it’s the best giggle.

I was so excited when the mentioned that they were expecting #2 and hoping for maternity and newborn pictures in the spring.  So we lucked out with a spring-like day a few weeks ago, perfect for some outdoor maternity photos.

So first, meet mom- isn’t she gorgeous!

And dad is so sweet!  We kept him busy, keeping track of the dogs as well as running for goldfish crackers for big brother.

But oh my, those eyes!  This little one is going to be a great big brother.

Finally we took some time to get a few images of mom in the nursery.  These might be my favorites.  There’s a peace about them and a peace about her.

In just a short time, this little one will be here and I’m so excited to go back and meet him!

Do you know of someone who is expecting and would love newborn photos?  I always try to keep room in my schedule for newborns because I believe it’s such an important and fleeting moment to document.  Please contact me and we can talk about planning your next portrait session.  Sessions can be scheduled in your home or in studio and can be completely posed or lifestyle.
