I started venturing into the Pittsburgh tween photography market earlier this year.  It’s an age that I love and I miss connecting with regularly.  You see, BK (before kids) I taught middle school art and while it was so challenging, I really enjoyed so many of those kids.  Tween sessions allow me to revisit that time I spent engaging with this age group.

I’ve mentioned that I think turning 10 is a big deal.  Well, I’m so glad that I’m not the only one and I was so excited when another photographer mom contacted me to do some 10-year-old pictures with her son.  She told me he was more of a city boy so we agreed to meet down in the Strip District.  I’ve been eyeing this location for some time now, just waiting for the perfect subject to shoot down there.  Boston was that perfect subject!

The Pittsburgh city skyline is hazy in the background.I loved how he would change from the tough guy faces to the smiles so easily.  And this one with the shirt over the shoulder was his idea.

We also had to do a few with mom.  There’s a special bond between a mom and her boy.
